Located less than 2 hours south of Mexico City in the state of Morelos, Jardines de México is a plant and flower lovers’ dream.
Many have called this outdoor botanical park a Paradise of Flowers.
You will discover thousands upon thousands of colorful flowers. Also plants, trees, ponds, fountains, statues, and well-groomed walkways to take you to the different themed gardens!
There are 7 in total.
My favorite was the Tropical Garden. It reminded me so much of where I live and have my office in the México state of Veracruz. I could close my eyes, open them and think I was back in the warm tropics near the Gulf of México.
The other sections include a Japanese Garden, Italian Garden, Cactus Garden with 200 different species, an Aquatic Garden, Herbal garden, and a fun section called, the Labyrinth of the Senses.
This whole botanical theme park covers 126 acres.
Yea, it’s Huge!
Prepare yourself for a lot of walking from one garden to the next. They do have trams that can take you around as well.
Note: When I was there, all the signage for the descriptions of the flowers and plants were only in Spanish.
This outdoor park also has a very nice restaurant eating area with pleasant surrounding views.
It is open everyday and if driving, has a big parking lot right at the entrance.
And yes, it’s true that this is the largest flower garden in México. However, according to their promotional material, they also advertise that it is the largest outdoor flower garden in the world.
Bring your camera, a good pair of walking shoes, and plan a whole day to enjoy the ambiance of Jardines de México.
