Coahuila
So white that at first glance, visitors to this region of Coahuila may think they are looking at snow. But it’s really a vast expanse of gypsum sand dunes where an ocean once existed but had evaporated. Some of these white dunes tower upwards of 60 feet.
There is an area the size of 1/2 of a football field wide by 2 football fields in length where Paleontologists (those who study fossils) have discovered the world’s largest dinosaur graveyard. The Desert Museum in the capital city of Saltillo has exhibits to learn more.
The first wine ever produced on the American continent came from the vineyards of Casa Madero in this northern Mexico state.
Coahuila’s rugged hills, valleys, canyons, and desert regions has many interesting and diverse things to see and do.
